My name is Ashley. I am the owner/artist behind The Legendary Skunk. For many of you wondering, my nickname since freshman year of high school has been Skunk due to the white stripe I rocked down the back of my hair. I was born and raised in Bowling Green, Kentucky. I learned how to crochet when I was nine years old and everything else, like knitting, has been self taught. In 2010 I was an early high school graduate, already out on my own and with a lot of time on my hands so I decided to start a seasonal, crochet only Etsy shop to bring in some extra cash. In 2012 I moved out of my crummy studio apartment and headed out west to Tucson, Arizona.

The name Skunk began as a high school nickname (thank you, emo/goth phase! I wore all black and had a white stripe dyed down the back of my head) and has since grown into my creative identity. What started in 2010 as a cozy crochet shop has evolved into an enchanted space filled with insects, moss, and the quiet magic of the natural world.

Since taking on my small business I now have a degree in entomology, am embracing my love for digital art, am an aspiring author of only one important story. I am a wife, and mom of two, building a tiny cozy corner of the internet from my home in Kentucky. Through TLS, I hope to share the beauty I find in small things and send a little piece of that magic into the world.
