My name is Ashley. I am the owner/artist behind The Legendary Skunk. For many of you wondering, my nickname since freshman year of high school has been Skunk due to the white stripe I rocked down the back of my hair. I was born and raised in Bowling Green, Kentucky. I learned how to crochet when I was nine years old and everything else, like knitting, has been self taught. In 2010 I was an early high school graduate, already out on my own and with a lot of time on my hands so I decided to start a seasonal, crochet only Etsy shop to bring in some extra cash. In 2012 I moved out of my crummy studio apartment and headed out west to Tucson, Arizona.

The name Skunk began as a high school nickname (thank you, emo/goth phase! I wore all black and had a white stripe dyed down the back of my head) and has since grown into my creative identity. What started in 2010 as a cozy crochet shop ran by a chaotic alternative kid who ran away from home the moment she could, has evolved into an enchanted space filled with insects, moss, and the quiet magic of the natural world.

Since taking on my small business I now have a degree in entomology, am embracing my love for digital art, am an aspiring author of only one important story, building a tiny cozy corner of the internet from my home in Kentucky. Through TLS, I hope to share the beauty I find in small things and send a little piece of that magic into the world.
